Hi! We’re a small media company with a portfolio of websites on a variety of topics.
We are looking for a part-time US native Content Manager / Managing Editor to work across the portfolio.

The role will start at 2-3 hrs/week with the scope to increase further down the line.

Role & Responsibilities:

-Coordinate the flow of content coming back from writers or agencies, and edit it where needed (this is not a proofreading job, but you’ll check that the content is high quality, not plagiarised, and spot-check references and sources for factual accuracy).

-Follow up on content that needs revising or changing, manage deadlines, and work with the writers to improve their output and make the content the best it can be.

-Help define editorial guidelines and improve our in-house processes where needed
Turn our outlines into full briefs where needed, then allocate to the writing team members according to their individual subject expertise

-Work with our reviewers to check, update and revise content and implement suggestions or corrections

-Occasionally add or change small paragraphs on existing articles to update them

-Work with our VA/uploading team members who will format, polish, and add images, ready for your final checks before publication

-Assist in growing and managing our small team of writers from time to time. You’ll help find, shortlist and interview/test new candidates, check their qualifications, and onboard them.

Your profile:

Native English speaker (ideally US-based)
Excellent organizational skills
Familiar with editing/working inside WordPress
Ideally familiar with project management software/environments (we use Clickup)
Excellent communication and writing skills
Great attention to detail (to prove it, put "apples" in your application)
Some knowledge of SEO and digital/content websites beneficial
Result-driven, team player but happy with autonomy
Experienced in proactively managing a small team
