Hi there. We have a legacy events website which lists events by city. We’re planning to install a new WordPress project with modern theme and plugins, and port over the existing content. The project is mostly ready for launch, but needs some feature updates, performance optimisation, and testing.
You’ll work with a manager who has a technical background. The developer has moved onto a long term role, but will still be available for any queries.
This is ideally a full-time project for 1-2 months, but we’re flexible and will accept a part-time schedule for the right candidate. We’ll conduct a short daily standup video call at a time that works for everyone.
We’re looking for a developer + site admin comfortable with:
* WordPress, PHP, and MySQL
* Basic site admin with Linux, Apache, ideally VPS hosting (we use DigitalOcean). You must be comfortable working on the command line (e.g. bash).
* Familiarity with modern WordPress (e.g. Gutenberg editor)
* Familiarity with version control and Github
This is primarily an admin role, but you should still have familiarity with WordPress architecture, how plugins and hooks work, etc. There will be more coding work assigned if you are able to take that on.

1. PERFORMANCE TUNING
Analyse plugins and improve site performance
2. FEATURE UPDATES
Prepare site for live deployment (some feature updates here only if you have WordPress development skills)
3. GO LIVE
Switch over to the new website
4. MAINTENANCE
Ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the new website
Hourly Range: $20.00-$30.00
